Roy enjoyed camping, especially by the Metolius River, and boating at Round Butte. He taught his girls how to water ski despite the fact that he did not know how to swim! He took Shantia and Lorina on a week-long adventure to California in a semi truck. He enjoyed music and many concerts over the years. One particularly memorable outing with his pre-teen daughters was to see The Bee Gees. He also loved car racing whether watching or driving. He was thrilled to attend the Indianapolis 500. Being a farmer, the few times he was able to get away, he traveled to Disneyland, Yellowstone, and eventually Mexico and Hawaii. He loved being on the farm with his canine companions and spending time with his family. Roy attended his grandchildren’s sporting and school events, graduations, and Bryce and Aubrey’s wedding. Roy was proceeded in death by his parents, Mancel Nance and Lella Nance Toothman, and sisters Birdella and Priscilla. He is survived by siblings Bonita, Pat, Ron, Rosella and Theresa, daughters Shantia (Todd) and Lorina, grandchildren Bryce (Aubrey), Cade, Rosabeth, and great-grandchildren Eden and Ezra. Roy will be remembered as hardworking, strong, smart, innovative, caring and tender hearted. He was happy to share his stories and opinions, as well as a “Bless your heart.” He will be missed. Funeral service to be held December 10, 2022 at 1 pm, at Metolius Friends Community Church, 575 Hood Avenue, Metolius, Oregon. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park in Madras, Oregon.
