Lidia Lopez Obituary

Sister Lidia Meza Lopez was born on May 19. 1945 to Pastor Pedro Meza and Zenaida Gomez in Mexicali, Baja California Mexico. She had 13 siblings growing up,  7 siblings on her mothers side and 6 siblings on her fathers side. Sister Lidia was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ on October 7th. 1967 in Mexicali, BC by Minister Felipe Gaxola G. Sister Lidia spent a few years traveling from BC to California for the Apostolic Biblical College, and settled for a little while in Seattle, Washington where she remained an active member of the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus. In 1984 she met Pastor Indalecio Lopez at a church in Gervais, Oregon and later again at a  convention. Brother Andy pursued her and invited her to a youth banquet as he was the Pastor in Gervais, and president of the church district youth organization.  Sister Lidia revealed to him that she was not interested in marrying a pastor as she did not like having attention drawn to her; however she accepted his invitation. Shortly after that youth banquet Pastor Andy proposed to Sister Lidia in November of 1984 and asked her pastor for permission to marry her; they were later married on February 16th. 1985 in Seattle, Washington.

In 1989 she moved with her husband to Madras, Oregon where they opened up a church together, Sister Lidia was a very active member of the church, she served as secretary of the women's group, treasurer,  she also taught the children's Sunday school class and assisted with any of the church’s needs. She was beloved by the congregation; this church still stands today. Sister Lidia and Pastor Lopez spread the Lord's word by opening several churches, in 2001 they opened a church in Gresham, Oregon, Redmond, Oregon in 2002, and in Culver, Oregon in 2009. 

In 1995 Lidia and her husband purchased their first home together in Culver, Oregon and became certified foster parents in the State of Oregon. In December of 1999 they adopted their daughters, sisters, Veronica and Erika and later adopted their son Robert in October 2003. Together with her husband she fostered 64 children throughout her lifetime, until they retired in 2016. 

 

Lidia is survived by her husband Indalecio G Lopez, her  two daughters Veronica Meza Lopez and Erika Meza Lopez, her son Robert Meza Lopez, her granddaughter Jolene Capp,  her brother Pedro Meza and her sister Isabel Flores.


 

Hermana Lidia Meza López, nació el 19 de Mayo. 1945 por sus padres, Pastor Pedro Meza y Zenaida Gómez en Mexicali, Baja California Mexico. Tuvo 13 hermanos, 7 hermanos por parte de su madre y 6 hermanos por parte de su padre. La hermana Lidia fue bautizada en el nombre de Cristo Jesus el 7 de Octubre. 1967 por el Ministro Ramón Higuera Mora en Mexicali, BC. La hermana Lidia pasó algunos años viajando desde BC a California para el colegio bíblico de la Asamblea Apostolica y se instaló por un tiempo en Seattle, Washington, donde siguió siendo miembro activa de la Asamblea Apostólica de la Fe en Cristo Jesús. En 1984 conoció al pastor Indalecio López en una iglesia en Gervais, Oregon, y luego nuevamente en una convención. El hermano Andy la prosiguió y la invitó a un banquete de jóvenes, Él era el pastor en Gervais y presidente de la organización juvenil del distrito de la iglesia. La hermana Lidia le reveló que no estaba interesada en casarse con un pastor, ya que no le gustaba que la llamaran la atención; sin embargo, aceptó su invitación. Poco después de ese banquete de jóvenes, el Pastor Andy le propuso matrimonio a la hermana Lidia en Noviembre de 1984 y le pidió permiso a su pastor para casarse con ella. Se casaron el 16 de Febrero. 1985 en Seattle, Washington.

En 1989 se mudó con su esposo a Madras, Oregon, donde abrieron una iglesia juntos, la hermana Lidia era una miembra muy activa de la iglesia, se desempeñó como secretaria del grupo de dorcas, tesorera, también enseñó la clase de escuela dominical para niños y asistía con cualquiera de las necesidades de la iglesia. Ella era amada por la congregación; esta iglesia sigue en pie hoy. La hermana Lidia y Pastor Lopez difundieron la palabra de Dios abriendo iglesias en Gresham, Oregon en 2001, Redmond, Oregon en 2002, y en Culver, Oregon en 2009. 

En 1995, Lidia y su esposo compraron juntos su primera casa en Culver, Oregon y se convirtieron en padres adoptivos certificados en el estado de Oregon. En Diciembre de 1999 adoptaron a sus hijas, hermanas, Veronica y Erika, luego adoptaron a su hijo Robert en Octubre de 2003. Junto con su esposo, crió a 64 niños a lo largo de su vida, hasta que se jubilaron en 2016.

 

A Lidia le sobreviven su esposo Indalecio G Lopez, sus dos hijas Veronica Meza Lopez y Erika Meza Lopez, su hijo Robert Meza Lopez, su nieta Jolene Capp, su hermano Pedro Meza y su hermana Isabel Flores.
