Larry Hartshorn Obituary

Larry Hartshorn passed away on November 10 surrounded by family after a long health struggle.

Larry was born in Ford Kansas and graduated from Ford High School before attending Dodge City Community College.

In 1955 Larry moved from Kansas to Oregon to help with harvest and recognized his true home and never left.  In 1957 he married the love of his wife, Mina.  Together they raised three daughters in Madras.

Larry worked hard his entire life and spent most of it delivering fuel and oil for Chevron.  He enjoyed the relationships he built with his customers throughout Jefferson County.

He served Jefferson County on the Education Service District. He was incredibly proud of receiving his 50 year award from the Masonic Lodge this past year.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was an active member of Methodist Men as long as his health allowed.  He was a founding member of the Madras Rifle, Archery & Pistol Association.  Larry and Mina delivered Meals on Wheels in the Madras area for several years.

Larry enjoyed camping and hunting and had many outdoor adventures he loved to share with friends.

Larry is survived by his wife Mina of 64 years, daughters Sheri Pendergraft (Mark), Marsha Cross and Jan McDonald all of Bend as well as his sister, Lena Hartshorn of Bend.

He will be remembered for his undeniable love of his family, plus his honesty, wisdom, and faith.
