James Dulaney Obituary

James Daniel Dulaney, 58, of Metolius, passed away December 16, 2020 from a heart attack. He was born June 3, 1962, to parents, James Donald Dulaney and Audrey Alice Burt, in Prineville, Oregon.

Dan went to school at Buff and Metolius Elementary's, Jefferson County Middle School, and Madras High School.

On September 4, 1993, Dan married Kandi Renee McDonald at the Prineville Community Church. They made their home in Metolius.

Dan worked as a mill worker, forklift driver, fire camp employee, dishwasher, customer service, janitor and groundskeeper. He was a member of the Metolius Friends Community Church.

Dan was also a member of the BPOE #2017 Madras Elks Lodge. Dan was a faithful and active member, holding all positions except for tiler. In 2006-2007, Dan attained the highest officer of Exhalted Ruler. He received many awards through the Elks Lodge over many years. In 2018, Dan became unhappy with the Madras lodge and changed membership to BPOE #1814 in Prineville.

Dan was also on the Metolius City Council in 2001- 2002, and most recently 2017-2020. He was very involved with the Metolius Train Depot, in fact, he helped with moving and building of the deck. Dan enjoyed working with others on the pancake breakfasts held at the depot.

Dan enjoyed professional wrestling - Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown, blue collar comedy (Dan always said they should have called him), classic television and movies, especially Clint Eastwood movies.

Dan is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kandi; aunt, Mary Frazier; cousins, Debra Willliamson, Wanda Rogers, Linda Thompson, Shannon Preisendorfer, Greg Wiley, Lori Wiley, Michelle Parshall, Terry Frazier, Diane Henderson, Denise Larson, Donell Frazier, and Diana Elrod; brother, Troy Dulaney; and a great many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews, too many to count.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Donald and Audrey Alice Dulaney; and brother, William Henry "Willie" Dulaney.

Services to be announced at Mount Jefferson Memorial Park. Please no flowers of any kind, widow is highly allergic.
