Danny R Walston

Dad, you are our hero and our rock through this war with Cancer. Your courage to be nothing but love and comfort for us and those around you from your diagnosis until your last breath represented bravery unmatched. 

 

Dan Walston, born January 20, 1957 was a proud Madras local all his life. He passed at 65 years of age surrounded by his family on April 26, 2022 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. 

 

Dan was known for his love of hunting and guns, upland bird, waterfowl, big game, coyote,  fishing, reloading, varmint hunting, target shooting, woodworking, a wonderful cook, and was known for his ability to consume knowledge of whatever he was passionate about. If Dan loved something or loved you there was never a question. 

 

Dan started work as a box boy at Ericksons Sentry at 16 years old and left 44 years later as the face and Manager of Ericksons. Dan was also a volunteer fireman, professional portrait and wedding photographer, social worker, and loving father. 

 

Dan is survived by his two children Michelle LaCroix, and Jeff Walston. 

 

A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at Mt Jefferson Rifle Archery & Pistol Association on Saturday May 14 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Dan to the the local youth program with Oregon Hunters Association https://oregonhunters.org/product/in-memory-of/
