William "Bill" Hamon
Robinson
October 21, 1949 – November 2, 2021
William Harmon Robinson passed away November 2nd, at his home in Culver, OR, at the age of 72. Bill was born in Madras, OR, October 21, 1949, to William and Nancy Robinson.
He attended school in Madras, where he was a Boy Scout, played Little League and was on the High School football team. He was also active in 4H and FFA, graduating in 1968. As a young man he attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle, Washington, and the Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, Missouri. Bill went on to work for his father, the owner of the Madras Pioneer, in various capacities. He was later employed by Round Butte Dam, Warm Springs Mill and spent some time in the logging industry. He was also a Commercial River Guide on the Deschutes River for several years and up until retirement, Bill worked at AG West where he enjoyed interacting with the customers and the residents of Jefferson County.
In 1975, Bill married Glenda Cook and they raised their daughters, Holly and Sara. They made their residence in Central Oregon where Bill was an active member of the Jefferson County Historical Society and supporter of the Culver Bulldogs wrestling team.
Bill loved animals, the great outdoors, rodeoing and dancing. He was also a dedicated Christian.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Holly Robinson-Rudd (Miles) of and Sara Turner (Marty), as well as three grandchildren, Tyler Warren, Nicole Turner, and Michael Turner (Megan), and nine great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Carrie O’Neill of Portland, OR and brother Charles Lorimer of Millington, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Melissa Wallace.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 19, at 12:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge at 262 SW 2nd St, Madras, OR 97741. The family requests that any donations be made in his name to either Jefferson County Historical Society or the Culver Bulldogs Athletic Program.
