IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Venus
Finklea-Ranson
July 27, 1970 – April 12, 2020
Venus was born to DC Finklea and Marilyn Ranson on July 27,1970 in Hillard, Ohio. She went to local schools and graduated from West High School, Columbus, Ohio. She attended American Radio Broadcasting School in Columbus, OH and began to work for 1 year at one of the local broadcasting stations. It was during this time that She became ill and was house ridden. It was during this time that she had a vision of Jesus Christ (Yeshuah) and in her living room she was miraculously healed and surrendered her life to Jesus Christ(Yeshuah). From there she attended Ramah Bible College and decided to go full time Ministry.
20 years ago along with her husband Andrew Smoke-Cobbett, children Valencina, Praisa, and JC came to Oregon as a Missionary Family. Starting at Warm Springs Reservation they began to travel from state to state as domestic missionaries. Known as simply Brother Andrew and Sister Venus, they moved mightily in the gifts and the calling of Jesus Christ. They lived a very modest life but the hand of the Lord was upon them and gave them favor wherever they went. No distance was too far no need so great, they always answered the call whether it be OR, WA, ID, MT,CA,NV,WY,ND,CO,NM,AZ,UT, they were always available. Families that were separated were united, the blind received their sight, the lame were made to walk. Children were rescued and those who were destitute were set free. No one was left behind.
Venus gave selfless in all she did. On the way to Utah Shriners Hospital, she became ill and collapsed in San Juan Medical Center in Farmington, NM, never to be revived. So she left this life as she lived this life “In Service Unto Others”
Her sudden passing was and is a great shock to many people who knew her and the lives that she touched. She leaves to mourn her husband Andrew, daughters C. Valencina, Praisa Esperanza, son JC Xavier, granddaughters, Mini and Sky, two brothers Dave( wife Stefani) and Alfie Ransom, Aunt Charlene, many relatives and friends and Ministry Associates
