IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tina Marie
Fonnesbeck
June 11, 1966 – November 15, 2021
On Monday, November 15th, Tina Marie (Spatig) Fonnesbeck passed from this life at the age of 55.
Born to Carolyn and Ronald Spatig on June 11th, 1966, Tina spent her childhood in Mink Creek, Idaho. During her high school years she enjoyed playing on both the volleyball and basketball teams, graduating from Preston High School in 1984. She married her sweetheart Blake Fonnesbeck in the Logan Utah Temple on November 8th, 1985 and soon moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. After a few years they settled in Smithfield, Utah and eventually welcomed four children: Amanda, Nicole, Tyler, and Danielle. Tina and family moved to the midwest in 1998; living first in Rock Island, Illinois then Spencer, Iowa (2000-2006). It was in Spencer that Tina discovered her talent for working in special education. Throughout the years she worked with many students, sharing her heart and gentle, joyful personality with each one. Moving with family once again, Tina made her home Brigham City, Utah in 2006. As their children grew into adulthood, Tina and Blake relocated to Park City, Utah. Her final years, 2019-2021 were spent in Sandy, Oregon and Madras, Oregon.
Throughout her life, Tina remained a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many capacities. Tina’s love of her faith and those around her was evident in everything she did. She was a devoted mother and wife ensuring her family were rich in love and compassion. Her sense of humor and spark for life was infectious to those around her, lighting up any gathering she attended. She had a great love for sports and was very competitive in life, while Blake loved sports he could not channel surf without having to stop at every sporting channel so that Tina could see what the score was. Her children never lacked for her support in any event they were involved in. She always had such compassion for anyone she encountered and had an amazing ability to pick up on a stranger’s distress and jump in to help them out. She was an incredible individual who will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.
Tina is survived by her husband Blake, four children: Amanda (Tristan) Jensen, Nicole (Marshall) Merritts, Tyler (Aimee) Fonnesbeck, Danielle (Michael) Harrop, four grandchildren, her parents Carolyn, Ronald, as well as four siblings: Valdean Spatig, Randy Spatig, Jana Wheelwright, and Tony Spatig. She spent the last several years of life suffering the effects of early-onset Alzheimer’s, eventually passing due to the disease.
