Thomas was born on August 17, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to parents Conrad & Agnes (Darby) Miller. He graduated from West Linn High School and attended 2 years of community college. He was a member of the National Guard. He married Sharon (Keating) Miller. The couple lived in Owyhee, Nevada; Sells, Arizona; Lake Oswego, OR; and Oregon City, Or. They came to Madras in 1995. He was employed as a mailer for newspapers. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Madras
