Theodora (Teddi) Schmidt passed away on October 11, 2022. She was born on November 2, 1936. Teddi lived a full life - born in Brooklyn, New York then moving to Phoenix, Arizona, Orange County, California and finally settling in Madras, Oregon.  Teddi was an active member of the Madras Lodge Ladies of Elks, and a member of the Culver Cutie’s Red Hatters. She also was very active in the Jefferson County Senior Center, and in previous years, a volunteer for the Relay for Life. Teddi was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and was a 16-year volunteer at Mountain View Hospital/Saint Charles Hospital. Teddi was a Nobel Grand with the Eastern Star Rebecca’s and a longtime TOP’s member. She loved to play cards and hang around her friends, which she had many.  In fact, she was playing cards on the day she passed. People remember her as very outgoing, friendly, and as a great friend. Teddi had three girls, Kathleen Schmidt Phoenix, Arizona, Debbie Bishop and Rosie Griggs both of Madras, Oregon. Teddi spent the last 21 years living with Rosie and her husband, Bryan Griggs. She had five grandchildren, James, Deemer, Christopher, Victoria, and Tommy. She also had three great grandchildren, Maren, Alexander and Gray. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, October 30th at 1:00 pm at the Madras Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name for the Meals on Wheels program at Jefferson County Senior Center.
