Stacey Lee Chiddix, AKA Papa C, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to all who knew him, passed away on July 20, 2026 at the age of 58 while fighting fire to protect his family cabin—a cherished place where he, his beloved wife Rachel and his best friend Scott spent decades building and making memories. He was born and raised in Madras, Oregon and remained a lifelong resident.

Stacey will be remembered as a pillar of his community, a hardworking man, and someone who loved his family more than anything. His presence will be greatly missed and his memory will live on through his family, friends and the community he helped build.

Stacey was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rachel Alicia Chiddix. Stacey and Rachel were married on April 23, 1993 and shared 29 years of marriage before her passing on September 10, 2022.

Stacey is survived by his mother, Patricia Chiddix; his brother, Rodney Chiddix; his sister, Tina Ickler; his son Caleb and his wife, Shaylynn; his grandchildren, Evelynn and Oliver; and his son Jacob and his wife, Karley.
