Phyllis Y. Brewer passed away at the age of 65 after a five-year battle with Frontotemporal Lobe Degeneration (FTD) on April 24, 2022, at St. Charles Hospital in Madras, Oregon. She was born July 15, 1956, in Stockton, California, the daughter of J.W. Powers and Kathleen (Hickox) Powers Mallatt.

She lived in Checotah, Oklahoma where she worked at Muskogee Regional Hospital for many years. She moved back to Stockton, California where she loved to attend Crossroads Grace Community Church in Manteca, California before moving to Madras, Oregon to spend her last days with her children and grandchildren that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Curtis (Jim) Mallatt, and brother Curtis Powers. She leaves behind her beloved sons Robert Tradeway Letlow IV (Candy), Raymond Curtis Letlow (Sara), a special granddaughter Melanie Marie Letlow, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and 1 great-granddaughter, 4 sisters, a half brother, 2 step-brothers and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service celebrating Phyllis’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Bel-Air Funeral Home in Madras, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD), an organization that she volunteered with as a research participant and donated her organs to so that they may find a cure for FTD.
