OBITUARY

Margaret Wise 87, died at her home in Madras, Oregon on June 8, 2022. She was born in Albany, Oregon on July 16, 1934, child of Lillian and Clarence Schoenberger.  She grew up in small towns in Southern Oregon following her mother’s career as a teacher in Yoncalla, Summit and Yachats. She met and married Walter R. Eichler in Ashland, Oregon.  Children Mary, Barbara, David, Ken and Susan soon followed. She graduated from Southern Oregon College and Oregon State University with a Master’s degree and taught high school English in Grants Pass, Roseburg, Helix, Portland and Arlington, where she met Bill Wise. Her 30 years with Bill were her happiest and they traveled to Mexico and Canada, Scotland and Spain, and all over the Western United States discovering geology and culture with zest.

She is survived by 4 of her children: Mary Willson, Barbara Wise, husband Wayne d. 2018, David Eichler, wife Amy, Ken Eichler, wife Debbie. Her daughter, Susan Eichler, partner Jennie Lees, preceded her in death in 2014. Margaret had 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A private memorial service will follow.
