Mackey "LaRee" Hyder passed at Hospice House in Bend, OR on November 3, 2025 at the age of 81 from heart failure.

LaRee was born on May 1, 1944, to Otis Marshall and Laura Axford in Redmond, OR.  She moved around Oregon as a child with her mother and came to live with her father in Gateway at the age of 11.  They moved to Madras a couple years later and LaRee attended school in Madras and graduated from Madras High School in 1962.

LaRee met the love of her life at First Baptist Church in Madras, OR at age 15. Dad always said he noticed her smile first.  They married several years later on November 24, 1962.  Larry and LaRee shared 58 happy years of marriage together prior to Larry’s passing in 2021.  Their love and devotion to each other and to serving the Lord in many ministries together was a blessing to all who knew them.  They had 3 children: Tami, Victor and Brooke

Teaching at The Little Red Preschool for over 30 years was a joy for LaRee.  She also taught Sunday school for decades as well as Awana.  She was active in Good News and 4-H clubs through the years and was an amazing wife, mom, generous hostess and friend.  She poured time into her faith, marriage, children, grandchildren and community selflessly.

Her last wish was to share how Jesus loves you and his free gift of salvation for us all.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Surviving family: Tami Biddington (Dirk), Vic Hyder (Lisa), Brooke Simmons (Earl), Grandchildren: Payton Biddington (Mckenzie), Ethan Biddington, Jarrett Hyder, Mitchell Hyder, Cole Simmons (Lauren) and great grandchild Luke Simmons, Amber Elguezabal (Cameron), and Bryce Simmons.

Roy Hyder (Holly), Tim Hyder, Vicki Grammer (Frank), Bob Marshall (Pat) and many nieces and nephews and bonus grandkids.

Service Information: Graveside Burial at Methodist Hill Cemetery in Metolius, OR on November 13 on Elbe Drive at 1 p.m.  Open house to follow at 5249 NE Clark Drive Madras, OR 97741 from 3-5:30 p.m.
