Joel passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at home in Madras, Or. at the age of 54, December 9, 2022. He was the youngest of 5 sons to Dr. Otto and Donna Pikl. Preceding him in death was his Father Otto, brothers Christopher and Mark. Joel met and married Wendy Goodell. They were married 21 years. Joel is survived by his wife Wendy, his two daughters Jessica and Kara of Central Oregon, two granddaughters Marlie and Sttephie, two stepchildren, his mother Donna, brothers Jeffrey and Brian Pikl. Joel graduated from Central Oregon Community College in 2012, and from Oregon State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Joel excelled in his artistic ability. His artwork was selected by two College Art Departments to be on the cover of the “Celebrate Academic Excellence” brochure in 2012. Joel was an enthusiastic gardener, artist, and enjoyed outdoor activities such as boating, camping, fishing and geology. He was excited at finding a bargain and shared it with everyone. His happy times were doing the chicken dance with his daughters, and playing cut-throat UNO on family game night. Joel was noted for his kindness, compassion, and caring for the needs of others, especially those with special needs. His Celebration of life service will be held on January 28, 2023 ,11am at Mt. View Wesleyan Church, 111 Main Street, Aumsville, OR 97325
