V. Jeanne Dodson-Bergen was born September 22, 1922 in Lawton, Oklahoma to parents Norval & Emma (Smith) Riggs. She went on to graduate high school and married RC Dodson on November 9, 1946. In 1948, Jeanne & RC came to Madras on a vacation trip to visit relatives in Gateway. While on that trip, the couple put a down payment on a farm in the Mud Springs area. The next year the couple moved to Madras when the irrigation water came to the area.

Jeanne was an excellent bookkeeper and worked for several local businesses throughout her career. She was also the treasurer for the First Baptist Church for over 60 years.

Jeanne enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working in her small garden which she said was "just to feed the local deer population." Jeanne was an example to her family of a gracious lady, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed by many.
