IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Herbert
Chandler
March 25, 1934 – August 19, 2018
HERBERT W CHANDLER, USMC CAPTAIN (RETIRED) 1934-2018
Herbert Chandler, 84, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2018
He enlisted in the USMC on February 19, 1953. Herbert spent the next 22 years as an active duty member and highly decorated commissioned officer of the USMC in service to his country. Herbert was a man of many talents from certified scuba diver to lapidarist and leather craft work. Herbert was also a master storyteller and a dedicated man of great honor and integrity. After his service in the USMC as a cryptographer, he was then promoted to Master Sargent as a communications officer. Later, he was promoted Captain to run the base in Da Nang, South Vietnam. After his retirement from the USMC in 1974, he met and married Mary Jennette Prochello; the love of his life for 38 years,
He is survived by his wife Mary Chandler, children Belinda & Mark Chavez, James & Julie Chandler, & Elizabeth & Ginny Chandler; step-daughters Terri, Lisa, & Sue; brothers James & Marshall; sisters Amelia & Patricia, grandchildren Brandon, Adriana, Alfonso, Micah, Crystal, Ashley, Ryan, Jennifer, Thomas, David, Paul, & Shawn and at least 25 great grandchildren, which he adored.
He is rejoicing today in the company of his father Herbert, mother Helen and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior along with many fellow Marines, family and friends in Heaven.
We can now rest assured that the Gates of Heaven are suitably guarded, as the Lord has called home a mighty Marine.
