Helen Borger-Riley, of Madras, passed away peacefully, Aug. 7, 2019, at the age of 93, with her daughters at her bedside.

Helen, the 7th of 10 siblings, was born Sept. 9, 1925, in Burwell, Nebraska, to Henry and Elizabeth Rohde. Helen married Maurice Borger on Aug. 5, 1951, in Reno, Nevada. They had three children: Larry, Karen and Linda. They moved to Jefferson County around 1961, and spent the rest of their lives in Madras. Maurice passed away in 1989.

Helen was married to Steve Riley from 1995 until his death in 2004. Helen was a member of Living Hope Christian Center. She loved spending time with family and friends, and had a wonderful sense of humor and fun. She enjoyed bowling, and was a spirited player of board games.

Helen is survived by her two daughters; a son-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and members of the Riley family.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; her son; four sisters and five brothers.

A family graveside service was held on Aug. 12 at Mt. Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will be held date pending, at East Cascade Assisted Living, where Helen had been a resident.
