Obituary

Donnie J Holly

1950-2022

Donnie was born in Clinton, OK on 6/20/50 to father Thomas E Holly and mother Glenna (Mitchum) Holly. When the parents brought him and his twin brother Lonnie home, his two older brothers, who were expecting a baby sister, told the folks to take them back! He passed away at age 72 at St. Charles Madras hospital on 7/12/22.

Donnie's family moved to Oregon in 1952 and he spent his childhood in Albany until the family relocated to Shedd, OR. He graduated from Central Linn High School in 1968.

His adult life occupations included working in the hospitality industries for Southwest Airlines and as a supervisor for La Quinta hotels guest services. It was there that he developed his interest in computer technology that continued throughout his life. He never found a technical gadget that he couldn't master and was a lifeline to family and friends who muddled through the complicated learning curve of computers.

It was the prayers of his mother Glenna that brought him to Fossil in 1999. He first took a job at the Asher Clinic, but then moved on to enjoying many years as a clerk at the Fossil Mercantile until medical issues forced him to retire.

Donnie was a faithful servant of The Lord Jesus Christ and enjoyed gathering together and studying The Lord's word. He always mentioned the fact that he wished he could bring more people to know The Way, The Truth, and The Life. That fact gives his family much peace and comfort, although he will be greatly missed by all who loved him and were loved by him.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Glenna and his brother Roger Holly.

Donnie is survived by his twin brother Lonnie Holly, brother Randall Holly(Marsha) and many loving nieces and nephews.

At his request there will be no formal service. Arrangements were made in Madras by Belair-Colonial funeral services. Donnie knew the peace of God and the love of Christ and is rejoicing, singing praises, Glory, Glory, Glory. Thank you God for Donnie.
