IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Derald Dean
Mccall
November 13, 1945 – January 27, 2022
Derald Dean McCall was born November 13, 1945, to Ralph and Bertha McCall, in North Bend, Oregon. He lived on the family's ranch with his brothers, Buck and Russell, and sisters, Anna and Glenda.
They moved to Central Oregon when he was nine. He lived there until he joined the Navy in 1964. Derald served on the USS Koiner and the USS Chevalier.
After his return from Vietnam, he met his future wife, Carolyn Vetsch, in Sisters, Oregon. They were married for 54 years.
Derald logged and drove truck for a few years before settling into ranching. He worked for the Oregon Department of Agriculture for 30 plus years as a Livestock Brand Inspector, a job he truly enjoyed. After retirement, he spent his time gardening, hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
Derald is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, Steve; granddaughter, Cindy; and three great-granddaughters, Cadence, Brooke, and Aubrey.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, and his daughter, Rhonda.
Derald was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend who touched many lives and will be missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
