Anjelita Garcia passed away peacefully in her home in Madras, Oregon on October 17, 2019.  She was 58 years old.  At the time of her passing, she was attended to by her longtime partner, Mike Hoyt, and her son, Matthew Middleton. The cause of death was a long-term illness.  Anjelita was a fiercely independent person that would not hesitate to give you her opinion.  At the same time, she had an abiding faith in God.  In conversation, when anyone spoke about a stroke of good luck, she would say, “That was a blessing.  God is looking out for you!”  She was so proud of her son, Matthew Middleton, as he grew from little boy into a man.  Even though the two of them experienced issues through life, she felt good that he had his life together.  She knew that, together with his devoted partner, Savannah, and their adorable daughter, Olivia, no obstacle could hold them back.  Anjelita loved to laugh.  She would laugh at life by taking situations and looking at them through a different lens.  She would laugh at things that happened in her childhood and loved to reminisce.  “Remember when.... “, she would start.   And, she could keep people in stitches with her storytelling, always adding her own flavor to the story.  She is survived by her parents, Aurelio and Maria Garcia of Hermiston, Oregon, who feel the sting of grief for a daughter they loved very much.  Additionally, her siblings, their children and grandchildren and many cousins will miss seeing her at family functions. Anjelita had eclectic tastes. She sought out unique dishes, books, and coffee places.  In the end, family gathered around her to bid farewell, and all agreed, “Her life was a blessing for all of us.” We are not saying goodbye; just till we see you, again.  Services and memorial are pending until spring; date and location will be announced.
