Alan Durkee passed away peacefully at home in Madras, Oregon on February 11, 2022. He was 77 years old.

Alan was born in Baker, Oregon on June 13, 1944 to Merrill and Elsie Durkee and later moved to Prineville, Oregon. Alan had one sister, Cheri Bailey, and one brother, Larry Durkee. Alan was deeply loved and will be missed by many including his brother-in-law, Martin Bailey, his nieces and nephews, Cindy Bushell, Debra Stokes, David Bailey, Lisa Bailey, Robert Durkee and Ronda Durkee, as well as his nieces and nephews many children.

Alan had a phenomenal love and talent for music which started at a very young age. He could listen to a song then sit down at the organ and play it. He played many instruments which included the organ, piano, saxophone, flute, and clarinet. He was the organist for the Madras Christian Church for many years until carpel tunnel deterred his playing on a continual basis.

Alan will have a private burial at Juniper Haven. A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Alan would appreciate any charity donations be made to Three Rivers Humane Society, Madras, OR.
